I had my first site built by a friend in 1995–it was bare bones basic, but back then almost no one in my real estate office even had a website. I felt like a trend setter LOL and over the years I have tried many different options. I tried Square Space, template-based sites, high-end web developers and ultimately landed on Word Press. When you build out a Word Press (WP) site, you need a theme to “skin” the site–the theme gives the site the look you want. My developer said to look for a Studio Press theme because the themes are known to be very stable and easy to work with–so, I bought my first theme–it was actually a third-party theme sold on the Studio Press site and it was called Winning Agent Pro–you can view the theme on two of my active sites: enjoygaineyranch.com and luxerealestategroup.com. I don’t believe you can get the Winning Agent theme from Studio Press but it might be available elsewhere.

The site you are on now runs a theme called Essence Pro–one of the things I love about it is the ease of making changes and the way the blog looks. I know blogging is not en vogue now for agents, but I enjoy educating, writing posts and providing info to my clients and other agents, so a nice looking blog was important to me. One great thing about Studio Press themes is that without much knowledge, you can make changes to the theme and make it look unique. Of course more complex changes will require the help of a developer, but you can easily find qualified people on sites like Fiverr.
